The department is equipped with state of the facilities like the soil lab and the structural lab where students are taught to test the engineering properties of soil and Building elements like beams and columns.
The department has very large, spacious and well furnished lecture rooms to accommodate the teaming members of students.

The Higher National diploma and Ordinary National Diploma in Building Technology is aimed producing technicians that are capable of performing basic functions in Building Technology practice both in private and public sector.
The objective are to produce a diplomat that will assist the professional builder in the areas of:
1. Production of simple buildings.
2. Maintenance of simple building.
3. Management of small projects.
4. Costing of simple construction works.
5. Cost control technique in minor construction and engineering works.
6. Selection of materials and techniques for new building system
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING
(A) Applicants with any of the following qualification may be considered for admission into the National Diploma program by direct entry.
(i) S.S.S.C or its equivalent (N.T.C or NABTEB, WASSCE, NECO, GCE O’LEVEL) with credit in physics, Mathematics, English and any other two subjects from the following: Further mathematics, Fine Art/Technical Drawing, Geography, Economics, Chemistry/Biology, Agricultural science, Building Construction obtained at not more than two sittings.
(ii) Five credit passes in relevant subjects as stated in (1) above obtained at the final examination of an NBTE recognized preliminary ND program offered in a polytechnic or similar post-secondary technical institution.
(B) Applicant to be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma program should meet the following qualifications.
(i) S.S.S.C or its equivalent (N.T.C or NABTEB, WASSCE, NECO, GCE O’LEVEL) with credit in Physics, Mathematics, English and any other two subject form the following Further Mathematics, Fine Art/Technical Drawing, Geography, Economics, Chemistry/Biology, Agricultural science, Building Construction obtained at not more than two sittings.
(ii) Must have completed National Diploma or National certificate Examination (Technical) in related fields such as Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying, Estate management, Building Technology from NBTE recognized and accredited Polytechnic or similar Technology institution.
(iii) With a minimum result classification of a lower credit with one year industrial training experience letter of completion or a pass classification grade with a two year industrial training experience letter of completion from related industry field of study.
