BRIEF ON THE DEPARTMENT OF ESTATE MANAGEMENT AND VALUATION
Land impinges upon almost every facet of the contemporary society; there is dire need for land conservation and good husbandry of this important natural resource. With this awareness, the need therefore to produce professionals in this regards cannot be over-emphasized. The Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies having recognized this fact took a step towards creating the needed man power to bridge the gap. Consequently, the National Board for Technical Education was invited for resource inspection with the aim of setting up the Department and commencing ND programme in Estate Management and Valuation to train middle power professionals in the noble profession of Estate Management and Valuation.
The panel from NBTE in 2014 granted accreditation to the Department to run programmes in Estate Management and Valuation capable of training personnel in handling and performing to an acceptable standard certain range of Estate development, Valuation and management functions and solving problems in their various fields of employment with minimal level of supervision.
Philosophy and Objectives of the Department Of Estate Management and Valuation

The programme is aimed at producing sub-professionals who will be capable of handling and performing to an acceptable standard certain range of Estate development and management functions and solving problems in their various fields of employment with some supervision.
At the end of the programme, the diplomats should be able to exhibit adequate knowledge, skills and technical know-how in the use, development and management of land on the following;
i. Inspect, survey and report on land and building for development and management purposes;
ii. Examine, produce and interpret building plans;
iii. Undertake the preparation, keeping and updating of land records.
Admission Requirements for the Programme
Candidates who desire to be admitted into the programme must possess
(a) Four GCE ‘O’ Levels or WASC or SSSC with credit passes in relevant subjects to the programme including Mathematics, English Language and Economics, a basic
Science – Physics or Biology or Chemistry, Agric and any other subject from Geography, Technical Drawing, Art, Commerce, Accounting and Four credit passes in relevant subjects obtained at the final examination of an NBTE recognized Preliminary – ND programme offered in the Polytechnics or similar Post-secondary Technical Institution on a foundation of four passes relevant to the programme.
The Department has within this short time taken her rightful place among Departments of the Institution with high prospects of growing to be one of the best on Campus. This is achieved through the instrumentality of the highly experienced staff of this noble Department.

He read Estate Management at the Cross River University of Technology, Calabar. He was graduated as the best student in the Department during the 2010 convocation ceremony and won the ‘Gesh Henshaw Prize for best graduating student’ He has been lecturing courses in the Department for the past four years. He has interest in research on the contemporary methods of valuation. . He is happily married and blessed with a daughter.

He is the Departmental SIWES/ Project Coordinator. He graduated from the Polytechnic Nasarawa with HND in Estate. He has been lecturing courses in the Department for the past three years. He has interest in research on the contemporary methods of valuation and has published in various local journals. . He is happily married
Fajinmi Abiodun PeterLecturer and the Departmental Examination Officer / Students’ Adviser.
He holds an HND from the Federal Polytechnic Bida in Niger State. He has been taking courses in the Department for the past two years. He has special interest in valuation and property Development and has published in various local journals. He is happily married blessed with a daughter.
